My name is Susanne van Ewijk. I am Dutch and live in Switzerland since 2009. I studied in the Netherlands and am a graduated teacher since 1998. During my first years of teaching, I was strongly attracted to schoolkids having special educational needs. I studied to learn how to accompany these kids in the regular school system and became a specialized teacher.
After this I wanted to help my colleagues having trouble at school and went for the coach qualification. For some years, next to my job as a teacher, I coached teachers in the Netherlands.
When we arrived in Switzerland, my priority was to get integrated with my husband and kids. I absolutely wanted to learn French, make new friends, and find myself an interesting job. I speak French, Dutch and English fluently.
After some years I found work at companies that didn’t have any connection with the educational scene. I found out that I couldn’t flourish in these companies and that I needed to go back to my roots: teaching and coaching.
I get a big satisfaction when I see a smile pop up and little stars shine in the eyes of the persons that realize that the achievement can be very close.
Since 2016, I am working as a remedial teacher at a primary school in La Chaux-de-Fonds. My employer encourages everyone working at school to keep up the knowledge, doing different studies.
I discovered the play «Cape Confidence® » during one of these occasions. It was love on the first sight between this game and me. In my opinion it is the perfect method to help people get confident again. I use this game a lot with my pupils at school and I am convinced by its efficiency. For me, having fun is the best way to open your heart and learn new techniques. I decided to do the certification to be official coach of Cape Confidence®.
Since some years I coach kids, adolescents and (young) adults. My goal is to help my clients to rediscover their forces and to feel able to reach their targets. The needs people have can be very different:
I am looking forward to playing this game with you and hope that your smile pops up and that little stars will shine in your eyes when you realize that your target comes in sight.
